HIGHLAND RANCH

Highland Ranch is a breeder of quality warmblood and shire horses as well as Brazil terriers, residing in beautiful scenery of Soini, Mid-Finland. The stud belongs to Kirsi Lehtomäki and she has many years experience of  different kind of horses and dogs. New stable was build 2005 and patio for foals was completed 2006.

Breeding horses are selected very carefully, based on their pedigree, type and good disposition.

Shire horses are still very rare in Finland. We do have our own coldblood breed, Finnish horse, but due to many reasons Finnish horses are not so close to Kirsi´s heart than shires are. One reason for this is size; English Shires average over 175 cm in height and weigh up to 1000 kg.

Shires personality to spare and a strong desire to form a genuine partnership with the people who handle them. So personality was the main reason why shires came to HR. They really are big, tender giants!  And even though we are talking about very huge horses, shires are used in every discipline, from logging to commercial carriage driving to dressage to trail riding.

Terrier brasileiros are quite small, active dogs who devote to their family 100 %. The breed is mixture of Whippet, Jack Russel and Chihuahuas and you can easily find those three breed from their character. You just have to love them!

All our dogs live with our family and they take part in all duties we do in our farm. Therefore all puppies get use to children, horses, cats, another dogs, tractors etc. Every puppy and foal who leaves from here is equally important for us and we love to keep in touch their new homes.
